At today’s Xbox Partner Preview stream today we got news about two new Game Pass Ultimate perks.
Persona 3 Reload showed off their new expansion pass, and announced that it will be available for all Game Pass Ultimate members as a perk.
The developer explained the expansion thusly:
et ready to dive deeper into the world of Persona 3 Reload with the newly announced Persona 3 Reload: Expansion Pass, featuring new costumes, background music tracks, and an extended story content scenario Episode Aigis -The Answer-.
This major DLC pack follows the recent successes and achievements of Persona 3 Reload, which became the fastest selling ATLUS title in history, topping 1 million sales within its first week of release. This stunning remake is highly rated amongst critics and players alike, currently holding an 88 on Metacritic.
Persona 3 Reload: Expansion Pass is coming on March 12 to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC and will be available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users for free as part of the Perks program.
The second GPU perk was for Final Fantasy XIV, which was given a release date of March 21st, 2024. The Xbox Wire described its showing as:
Square Enix treated us to a first look at the release date trailer for Final Fantasy XIV Online ahead of its full launch announcement on March 21 for Xbox Series X|S. It was also announced that a Starter Edition will be available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks for a limited time from March 21 to April 19, 2024. You can start playing Final Fantasy XIV Online today with the Open Beta which is now live on Xbox Series X|S.

The FF14 perk might be a trap. If you get the starter edition, which give you access to the full game, you’ll lose the ability to play the trial version afterwards.
And the trial version has a lot of content for free.
Good to know. Thanks !
So in theory, play all free content and then get the perk?
Yeah. Play the trial all you want and then decide if you wanna continue.
Persona 3’s expansion/dlc coming to UItimate is such a W. It’s like when they gave you the ultimate edition of Gears 5.
It’s worth noting the trial version does have limitations - you can play the base game and the first two expansions (which is a huge amount of content) but you have a gil cap on your account, can’t join guilds, can use the market board etc. It’s mostly to stop bots. The trial is an excellent way to get into the game though and if you wanted you could absolutely play through a mountain of content, but there is also benefits to switching to a full account.
I think the best way to do it is finish the base story game and if you liked what you played, redeem the code. Granted, it gets even better afterward, but I think your judgment would be determined from there.
Very glad to see them finally getting back to using the perks for proper stuff.
