Indiana Jones and the Great Cricle revealed – launching in 2024

At the Developer_Direct show, the team at MachineGames revealed a lot of information on the new Indiana Jones game. It’s called Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and will be released this year.

The biggest news – besides showing a lot of gameplay – is that the game will mostly be played from a first-person perspective. There are some third-person traversal parts when climbing or in certain circumstances, but most of the game will be enjoyed ‘from your own eyes’.

Regardless, it’s real and looks very nice indeed. Judging from the trailer and developer interview footage, it’s once again running on a version of iDtech, one of the many engines Microsoft now has at its disposal following the successful acquisition of Bethesda back in 2021.

Indy (as Harrison Ford no less!) is back solving puzzles, outwitting Nazis, and most importantly, punching them in the face. According to design director Jens Andersson, “Our game is about putting you in the shoes of an iconic hero.”

There’s been a lot of discussion around whether MachineGames would go 1st or 3rd person – it seems it’s leaning into the developer’s strengths, and reminded us a little of Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set to release in 2024 on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PCs, Cloud Gaming, and Game Pass. If you want to know more, check out the Bethesda.net news post, right here.
