It seems HP, Microsoft and Valve are working on a new VR headset

Today information on an upcoming headset by Microsoft and HP, with support for SteamVR was found on Twitter. The most interesting part? It’s said to be built in collaboration with Valve.

Microsoft currently has a VR platform called Windows Mixed Reality with multiple available headsets. It seems the company and its partners are expanding on that relationship with a new headset from HP. Other headsets could be following suit. The store page for this HP headset is already online, with a ”Coming Soon” placeholder and a screenshot of the front of the device.

With Half-Life Alyx launching on PC’s today as a VR only title, this could be the year that besides PlayStation VR, the virtual reality ecosystem becomes more mature and mainstream.

Hopefully we’ll have more details to share about these VR endeavours from Microsoft in the near future.
