At Inside Xbox Microsoft announced xCloud is now called Xbox Game Streaming and that it’s coming to users in the US, UK and South Korea in preview this October. Users can sign up here. The first four games playable on the service are Halo 5, Sea of Thieves, Killer Instinct and Gears 5.
Microsoft has partnered with T-Mobile in the US, Vodafone in the UK and SK Telecom in South Korea to bring the best quality game streaming on cellular data. But, people on other providers in these countries will also be able to play.
Users in the preview program can stream games from either the cloud or their home console via console streaming. Xbox Game Streaming will only be available for Android for now. There is no news on iOS, Windows and other platforms for now.
Microsoft has opened a special page (xbox.com/gamestreaming) for signing up in the preview program – and for more information on Xbox Game Streaming.
