Arkane is reminding everyone that Redfall can be played as a single player game

At first glance, Redfall may seem like just another Co-Op looter shooter that has saturated the gaming market over the past 10 years. It shares similar qualities to games such as Borderlands, but Arkane is emphasizing that Redfall can be enjoyed as a single player game if you so choose.

In a recent blog post, Arkane’s Senior Content Manager Anne Lewis writes “Redfall offers the opportunity to play with up to three friends, allowing players to mix and match from a roster of unique heroes with diverse skillsets. But that doesn’t mean the team at Arkane Austin has forgotten their roots. Arkane has always been known for crafting narrative-driven, single-player campaigns that allow players unprecedented levels of agency, and Redfall is carrying on that tradition.”

Studio Director at Arkane Austin Harvey Smith chimes in later in the article, saying “A huge emphasis for Redfall has been the solo experience, in keeping with Arkane’s passions. All the games we’ve made overlap in a bunch of creative ways, though no two are exactly alike. Redfall is an open world game, but it can be soloed with any of the heroes.”

It is clearly an emphasis for Arkane to express that Redfall can still be the single player, immersive-sim style game that Arkane fans have grown to love. The studio has also noted previously that there will be no AI teammates if you choose to play Solo, meaning if you choose to play the game as a single player game, you are truly experiencing the game by yourself.
