New Age of Empires III expansion The African Royals revealed – launches August 2nd

World’s Edge has revealed the second expansion for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition this week. It’s called The African Royals and brings new civilizations, maps and mechanics to the game.

In The African Royals you’ll be able to play as the Ethiopians and Hausa. New buildings and units are included such as the Livestock Market, Palace, the Royal Banquet, Shotel warriors, Neftenya and Gascenya as the Ethiopians. For the Hausa train inspiring Griots, musicians and historians from West Africa, or the Fulani Archers who can gather livestock.

The new update also includes three historical battles from Africa to play, such as The battle of the Three Kings, between the Portuguese and the Saadis in current day Morocco.

The Age of Empires team has also added new achievements and 15 new maps to the game. You can find more information on the new update on the official website. The African Royals will be available on Steam and the Microsoft Store for $10 on August 2nd. You can pre-order now, right here.
