As we navigate the ever-shifting landscape of being an independent video game outlet, we want to highlight the sheer volume of content this community-funded publication delivers each week – and that’s not including all the daily news coverage. It’s increasingly vital to emphasize why independent voices matter in this industry -one that’s increasingly dominated by just a handful of massive corporations. That’s why we’ve introduced this weekly feature, which goes live every Sunday. In “This Week on XboxEra,” you’ll get a preview of what’s coming up on XboxEra.com—from our latest reviewson games and cool hardware, and of course a heads up on Patreon-exclusive content.
As per usual, every week, we’ll be doing our best to keep you informed, laying out exactly what we’re up to and what we have planned every day for the week ahead. Reviews, Patreon content, livestreams – we’ll do our best to detail it here. Again, while we’ll never share specifically embargoed details for say things like game reviews, we will give an indication that a review – or multiple reviews – will drop on a specific day.
The goal – especially for our community – is to set clear expectations and ensure that everything we produce remains consistent and meets the high standards our readers expect. We’re aware that many people see our artwork, our website, and our output and assume we’re a large, well-funded operation. We’re not. We simply strive to do everything as well as humanly possible, and better than anyone else, whenever we can.
Outside of website content, the community can and should expect a few livestreams this week, including a Game Awards Voting Special Hangouts episode, a couple of Patreon Peeps (Exclusive to Patrons) and more.
As always, we also want to really underline who this is for; the people that are supporting us directly, month in, month out. Our community and our Patrons mean everything to us, so we’ll be detailing when they can expect exclusive content and how often.
