Xbox head Phil Spencer basically confirms Forza Horizon 6 will come in 2026

There were many games Xbox fans may have wanted to see at Sunday’s showcase that were a no show, perhaps none more than Forza Horizon 6. The highly anticipated follow up to the critical and commercial juggernaut racing series from Playground Games has been sought after since Forza Horizon 5 launched back in 2021.

While the game sadly wasn’t shown at this years Xbox showcase, the game was basically confirmed to launch next year courtesy of longtime Xbox division leader Phil Spencer. He said on Sunday that 2026 will feature “the next Forza”. While that could technically mean a new “Forza Motorsport” rather than the Horizon variant, that seems near impossible as Forza Motorsport just recently released a new entry in 2023. So while Forza Horizon 6 wasn’t officially announced, all signs are pointing to that being the case.

Forza Horizon used to release on a frequent cadence, usually taking about 2 years to release. If Forza Horizon 6 does in fact launch in 2026, it will be a five year gap between releases, meaning expectations will be high for the game to evolve in a significant way compared to other entries in the series.
