Campaign Music is coming to Halo Infinite’s Forge (And More)

Blurring the line between Forge and dev made more and more

The latest Halo Infinite content update, Operation: Fleetcom, releasing next week, 343 Industries has been slowly letting us know what to expect. They’ve already spoken about the new game modes coming, the fan favourite VIP as well as HeadHunter, but now we know the full extent of the updates to Forge and they don’t disappoint.

While rumours about Halo have been swirling around and we just recently got the news that the Halo TV Show has been cancelled after two seasons, Halo Infinite itself is still chugging along. Operation: Fleetcom releases on July 30th and with it comes the much anticipated and requested feature of being able to add campaign music into Halo Infinite’s forge creations. This has been something fans have been asking to implement for months now, especially after the addition of campaign AI allowed forgers to recreate fan-favourite campaign levels. The lack of music was immediately noticeable.

Now 343 have added in the music of Halo Infinite’s campaign to Forge with a variety of situational nodes, aiming to give as much control as possible to creators. They did this by implementing the music control exactly how it was in the creation of the campaign. They divided the tracks into various themes, such as “Heroic Combat Set B”. These containers have different tracks that all share the same mood but are randomized when playing, a smart way of making sure things don’t feel too repetitive. Here is a list of the total music themes:

  • Banished
  • The Endless
  • Forerunner
  • Monitor
  • Covenant
  • UNSC
  • Heroic
  • Special
  • 8-Bit

Alongside this new feature they’re also letting creators access over 1,000 voice lines from the multiplayer announcer Jeff Steitzer. This is exciting in its own right as it lets Forge creators truly go all out with their vision, and continue to blur the line between Forge and developer made creations.

There’s a lot of variety in lines being added, from the various modes, to Medals, to even a few humorous lines that 343 felt would be fun to include. They’re giving forgers control in who hears these lines, from all players, to a specific player, to a team. The bottom line is, they’re giving complete control in how to use these lines and we’re sure forgers have some fantastic ideas already.

Alongside these two major additions to the Halo Infinite Forge experience, this update also brings in more options and more control to nav markers and text strings/messages. In their own words, they’re giving players an “unprecedented level of control” with markers, allowing forgers to really fine tune exactly what they want players to see and experience. Messages wise, they’ve added over 600 new words and phrases while also allowing players to combine words in more ways.

The update itself releases next week and is also said to bring to some sandbox changes as well. They also recently added a match composer to the game, allowing you to pick and choose exactly what you want to play. Keep an eye out here for when it releases for all the news and changes to the game.
