Paramount+’s ‘Halo’ TV Series Has Been Cancelled, Producers Desire a Third Season

After two seasons, Halo's TV run is (potentially) over.

Paramount+ today has announced the cancellation of its ‘Halo’ TV series today. Reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the streaming service will no longer continue one of its popular shows based on everyone’s beloved Master Chief and his desire to shred all things Halo from existence.

In a statement led by Paramount+:

“We are extremely proud of this ambitious series and would like to thank our partners at Xbox, 343 Industries and Amblin Television, along with showrunner and executive producer David Wiener, his fellow executive producers, the entire cast led by Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief and the amazing crew for all their outstanding work. We wish everyone the best going forward.”

The Reporter’s sources say that the shows producers are looking to find another outlet to produce a third season for the series and Paramount+ is supportive of this potential move.

Per 343 Industries, one of the show’s producers:

“We deeply appreciate the millions of fans who propelled the Halo series to be a global success, and we remain committed to broadening the Halo universe in different ways in the future. We are grateful to Amblin and Paramount for their partnership in bringing our expansive sci-fi universe to viewers around the world.”

Though it may be the end of the Halo TV series on Paramount+, it may not be the end of the show entirely provided 343i, Xbox, and Amblin find a new home for the Chief. The show has gone through a turbulent development but had since become Paramount+’s “most viewed series” back in 2022. Til the show finds a new outlet, consider making do with Halo’s plethora of books and very fun video games.
