It has been announced that Multiversus will return in May on Unreal Engine 5.
Today, following a number of teases on the official MultiVersus Twitter account from testing the microphone is even working to some amusing Simpsons meme usage, the development team and publisher Warner Bros have finally broken silence and revealed that MutliVersus returns in May this year.
The free-to-play platform fighter is now releasing on May 28th, 2024, and the developers have been taking a lot of the feedback on board since the open beta. In the video below, they note some of the updates and changes that have been made and are coming to the game, from new characters like Marvin the Martian, and brand new stages from the wealth of IP used in MultiVersus.
In a surprise update, the game has also moved across to Unreal Engine 5 and made significant updates to it’s net code for crisp and rewarding gameplay, and what the developer notes as a “persistent” experience, no matter where you choose to play. Considering it’s a free-to-play game releasing on multiple platforms, this sure is a welcome update indeed.
They’ve also announced a brand new PvE mode alongside the expected PvP fare, which we can’t wait to learn more about. Bugs Bunny VS the world? Count us in.
