Microsoft Flight Simulator celebrates new player milestone.

Do we get airmiles of out of this or what?

Microsoft Flight Simulator is an extremely well supported game, seeing more than few updates since it’s release back in 2020. Now, the official X (formerly Twitter) account for the game is celebrating another milestone, sharing the news via a social media post.

Writing on X, they said “We’re thrilled to celebrate 15 million pilots who have taken flight with us in Microsoft Flight Simulator! Thanks to each and every one of you for filling the skies with your adventures. Blue skies and tailwinds.”

When it released back in 2020, it received high praise from across the industry, including ourselves. We reviewed both the PC and Console version.

In our first review for Microsoft Flight Simulator, we said:

This is not a particularly forgiving game, and for folks out there that want to see just how good it can look on your screen at home, you may find yourself unable to penetrate the heart of the simulation that lies under this beautifully crafted fuselage. And that’s okay – not every game can be made for every player out there.

There’s an enormous amount of enjoyment to be had in just exploring, and that speaks to me in a way not a lot of games have over the years. Cruising at 30,000 feet with the hum of the engine, the rattle of turbulence and the world below me, available in a way it never has been is absolutely worth sending a postcard home about.

A sequel to this reboot is due out later this year, aptly named Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and is releasing on both Xbox Series consoles and Windows PC and Steam on November 19th.
