A NEW ERA BEGINS

Today marks the start of a new era of Sea of Thieves: the game is playable on PlayStation®5 in Early Access for players who picked up the Premium Edition! So to those first players to set sail with us on a brand new platform, we want to offer a warm welcome to our shared pirate world.

In the six years since its release, Sea of Thieves has continuously changed and grown, with more than 40 million players seeking adventure since launch. Our monthly updates are still adding new features, new stories and new tools to expand the excitement on offer. There’s never been a better time to jump into a game and chase that horizon. Happy sailing!

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS

One of a pirate’s greatest assets is the support of their crew! The Sea of Thieves can be a dangerous place, so having a team of like-minded sailors to join you on your adventures is an invaluable addition to any Voyage.

So call on your friends today, especially those who have been unable to join you until now! Sea of Thieves supports crossplay across all platforms, so no matter where and how your friends pick up the game, you’ll be able to take on the seas together.

To ensure all pirates can celebrate this momentous occasion, we’ve designed new sails to reflect Sea of Thieves’ ever-expanding community! These are available to all pirates for free: all you have to do is set sail during Season 12 to be gifted a set of special New Dawn Sails.

Featuring a design and colour scheme commemorating the multiple platforms on which players can now enjoy Sea of Thieves, these time‑limited sails are well worth adding to your ship customisation options and showing your comradeship with players old and new!
