In an Press Release from the folks at D.I.C.E, they shared a little about what will be a series of talks from colleagues and friends of Vince Zampella, from The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley and CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, among others.
Honoring the life and legacy of Vince Zampella, this D.I.C.E. Summit session celebrates a creative visionary whose groundbreaking work will resonate for decades to come. Through a series of talks from colleagues and friends, including Geoff Keighley (Creator, The Game Awards), Phil Spencer (CEO, Microsoft Gaming), Todd Howard (Game Director & Executive Producer, Bethesda Game Studios), and Laura Miele (President, EA Entertainment & Central Development, Electronic Arts), alongside video messages from industry voices around the world, the session reflects on Vince’s inspirations, generosity, personality, and the indelible mark he left on entertainment, the game industry, the teams he worked with, and the hundreds of millions of players whose lives were touched by his games.“

Vince Zampella was tragically killed in December of last year in a single-car accident, just north off Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Mountain range.
Vince Zampella was best known as the creator of the highly successful ‘Call of Duty’ series, which has gone since to sell 500M units across PC, consoles, handhelds, and more—but he was also known as the lead designer for ‘Medal of Honor: Allied Assault’ before working on Call of Duty. After several years and many successful titles shipped, he then moved on after a break with the then Bobby Kotick-run publisher Activision and returned to Electronic Arts, founding Respawn Entertainment. The publisher then went on to publish Respawn’s multi-million seller ‘Titanfall’ and the wildly successful battle royale first-person shooter game ‘Apex Legends’. And within the last year, Vince was the head of DICE L.A., handling operations for ‘Battlefield 6’ which has sold several million copies since its launch back in October.
