If you aren’t in the loop, Animula Nook is a brand-new cosy life sim title from developer LilliLandia Games. Coming to PC/Macs, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles sometime in the distant future, this game offers a unique perspective where players navigate everyday environments as tiny explorers. Featuring a blend of modern cartoon rendering (inspired by Pixar’s “Luca” & “Win or Lose” and games like ‘It Takes Two’) with interactive environments and real-life textures like clay, fabrics, and toys—these come together to help build a lovely, cosy world. Gameplay aside, the developers say that it is designed to be a “spiritual sanctuary to offer warmth and companionship in a turbulent world”.

More on the game’s feature set can be found below. Animula Nook will launch sometime in the future when it’s good and ready. You can wishlist the game on Steam right over here as well.

Key Features

World & Tone: The Magic of the Micro-Verse

  • Perspective Shift: Shrink down and discover a stylized “Lilliput nation.” This is a world where your bedroom — from your desk and windowsill to every dusty corner—is reimagined as a vast adventure map.
  • A Cozy Sanctuary: Designed as a stress-light experience, the game offers a warm, whimsical escape where the focus is on discovery and tranquility.

Shrink, Build, Plant: The Art of Upcycling

  • Shrink to transform: Clear your desk. Use a shrinking mechanic to transform household clutter into usable building materials — this is where your home begins.
  • Upcycled Architecture: Build your home from familiar items. In this world, a discarded milk carton becomes an apartment, and a porcelain teacup is repurposed into a charming café.
  • Windowsill Homesteading & Giant-crop fantasy: Expand your life to the windowsill. Turn planters into tiny farms and grow giant crops that tower over your character for a true micro-sized harvest.

Total Customization: Style Your World and Your Circle

  • Personalized Identity & Home: Deep customization tools allow you to define your look and your living space. Express your aesthetic through a wide range of styles and furniture.
  • Style Your Friends: A unique social feature—you aren’t just limited to your own look. You can style and dress up your friends, including both quirky Minies(NPCs) and your fellow player friends, to create a community that matches your vibe.

Exploration & Gathering: Tiny Adventures

  • The Wonders of Wupa Woods: Venture out to gather resources like flower petals, spider silk, mushrooms, and bottled sunlight. These aren’t just materials; they are the treasures of the tiny world.
  • Bite-Sized Delights: Discover timed mini-games and pop-up activities tucked away in the environment, turning every exploration into a rewarding surprise.

Social & Multiplayer: A Growing Community

  • Grow Your Neighborhood: Meet the residents of Wuruville. Build relationships and invite your favorite Minies (NPCs) to move into your home as your community grows with you.
  • The “Demeteor Ascent” Challenge: Team up with friends to take on playful “little monsters” in the Demeteor Ascent stage. This core co-op experience is casual and light-hearted, focusing on friendly coordination rather than intense combat.
  • Build memories together. Drop by friends’ nooks for cozy hangouts and inspiration. Whether you are decorating together, exploring, or celebrating tiny wins, the best moments in this world are shared.

Tiny Passions: Lifestyle & Hobbies

  • The Bedroom Jam Session: Music is the heartbeat of this world. Master 8 different instruments—including the Handpan, Drum Kit, Piano, Cello, Guitar, Accordion, Flute, and Trumpet—and form a band with friends to create live performances in the micro-verse.
  • Culinary Crafting: Experiment with a library of recipes. Use unique ingredients gathered from your adventures to master the craft of tiny cooking.
  • Dance the Night Away: Break out playful dance moves to show off your style and keep the energy high during parties and get-togethers.
