Highguard has definitely not been without controversy since its launch two weeks ago today. It’s safe to say that the game has had mixed reviews, but it seems like developers Wildlight Entertainment are listening to what players have asked for and now they have permanently added a 5v5 mode to the game. Keep on reading to find out more about it.
You've been asking, and we're happy to share—5v5 Raid Mode is here to stay! ⚔

We appreciate everyone hopping in over the weekend to give the mode a try. We saw a fairly even split between 3v3 and 5v5, which helped inform our decision. pic.twitter.com/S0QfgCE7vK
The team shared a post last night on social media announcing the change, following a successful test weekend last weekend. Many players had shared their views on the original 3v3 mode, saying that the map was too large for successful gameplay.
Highguard launched two weeks ago, and our very own Aarsal went out to LA for a preview event. He really enjoyed his time with the game, saying ” I never played Apex Legends for more than a couple of hours, and the only competitive shooter I do play is Halo. Yet I found myself wanting to play again and again, and again the more I played. Wildlight has crafted an experience that already feels like it stands right amongst the very best of its kind.” You can read his full thoughts here.
As we all are aware, the game has had its share of negativity, with player counts dropping drastically after launch. Maybe the introduction of a permanent 5v5 mode will help change things around for Wildlight Entertainment?
