Call of Duty has shared a ‘COD RICHOCET Anti-Cheat update’ press release with us, here are all the details.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 might have been a financial disappointment for Xbox, but we quite enjoyed the game. In a review covering all three main phases of the game, we concluded with:
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is an absolute riot. It’s not afraid to rely on copious amounts of nostalgia, while also pushing the series forward in the most logical direction. Treyarch have looked back at Black Ops 2 and 3 for inspiration, and have delivered a fantastic Call of Duty, full to the brim of incredible content.
Treyarch has provided us with an update for the game’s Ricochet anti-cheat system. A Season 02 Progress Report is detailed below:
Season 02 at a glance:
- Disabling Cronus Zen and XIM Matrix: New detections target these input-modifying devices that simulate machine-perfect aim and recoil control, removing advantages no human player can naturally achieve.
- Ranked Play Protections: New remote, cloud-based attestation with Microsoft strengthens protection for Ranked Play by blocking tampered systems before matches begin, setting a new industry standard in security.
They go into more details in a “Stronger Protections for Ranked Play” segment. The section explains what TMP 2.0 and Secure Boot are and why they are required for all PC players. The next section calls out the Conus Zen and ZIM Matrix devices. Treyarch confirms that even though these products are available at retail stores, they are not allowed in Call of Duty and put your account at risk, stating “They are cheating tools, even if they masquerade as accessibility devices.”
Their Season 02 anti-cheat will focus on pint timing, consistency, and response patterns to discern if something is human-capable or machine-assisted. Thigns like recoil control, input prescision, and aim behavior are called out. They finish off the blog, which you can find HERE, talking about their future ambitions on anti-cheat. It is not a “one and done” solution, and they vow to keep focus on making cheating more difficult.
