Weekly Roundup January 26-31

It’s time to check-in, and have a look through all the big news, reviews and shows from the past week. Did you miss anything? Now’s your chance to catch up – with the weekly roundup for January 26-31.

Monday:

Monday’s headlines focused on big franchise updates and development shifts, including the announcement of a new Dragon Ball Age 1000 project targeting 2027 and an indefinite delay for the Dynasty Warriors 3 remake. Blizzard teased upcoming plans across its major franchises like World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch, while ARC Raiders detailed its latest “Headwinds” update. Elsewhere, it was revealed that Highguard was originally intended to be a surprise shadowdrop release.

Tuesday:

Tuesday brought a mix of release news, legal drama, and updates, with Project Songbird locking in a March 26 launch date. Valve made headlines after facing a massive $900 million lawsuit in the UK over Steam’s commission structure. Grounded 2 went live with its “Toxic Tangle” update and Nintendo shared a new trailer for Virtual Boy Classics arriving in February.

Wednesday:

Midweek news highlighted demos, seasons, and platform updates, including a new demo for the Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake arriving in early March. MechaBREAK kicked off Season 3, “Radiance of Sanctuary,” while Sony confirmed February 2026 titles for PlayStation Plus. Microsoft also reported year-over-year declines in Xbox hardware and content & services revenue for Q2 FY26 to the surprise of well..no-one, really.

Thursday:

Thursday was packed with content drops and collaborations, led by DJMAX RESPECT V launching Season 18 across Steam and Xbox. Xbox Indie Selects celebrated its second anniversary, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 2 introduced new maps and modes alongside a snowy Warzone refresh. Additional highlights included a World War Z crossover with The Walking Dead and more details on Scott Pilgrim EX, which is set to release this March.

Friday:

Friday rounded out the week with upcoming releases and major updates, as ICARUS: Console Edition confirmed a late February arrival. Xbox detailed everything coming to the platform between February 2–6, Battlefield 6 received a new patch with fixes and balance changes, and WWE 2K26 revealed four new game modes, a CM Punk cover athlete, and additional features.
