Last year’s critically acclaimed Day One Game Pass title, Monster Train 2, will get its first DLC — titled ‘Destiny of the Railforged.’

Rail Me
Monster Train 2 was released last year on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC. It was a Day One Game Pass launch, and I loved it. In my review, I said:
Monster Train 2 is excellent. It takes everything I loved about the first game and makes it just a little better. The looks, music, and strategy will have me playing this one for years to come.
After a series of free updates, the game is getting its first paid DLC today. It is titled ‘Destiny of the Railforged’ and will cost $9.99. The DLC will be available on February 2nd on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, with a Switch release ‘shortly’ thereafter.

Here is the TLDR straight from the developers:
Destiny of the Railforged Features
- An All-new Game Mode: Brave the new Soul Savior mode to wrest powerful Souls from the clutches of the unstoppable Lifemother and her twisted children
- Battle a crew of new bosses in any order you wish, enduring curses with each beast slain in exchange for access to boosted rewards
- Equip the Souls you free from each boss to cards in your deck to earn a huge array of powerful effects
- Amass power as you unlock Souls, advancing meta progression and strategic possibilities while conquering a challenge wholly unique from the base game
- Fearsome New Enemies: Soul Savior’s cosmic setting beckons a horde of new monsters keen to wreak havoc in allegiance with some familiar foes
- New Playable Forces: Available for play in all game modes and existing content, the formidable Railforged Clan that built the very trains you battle on throughout the series is ready to join the battle for the first time through two new playable characters:
- Lead the clan as Herzal, the renowned blacksmith who personally crafted the Rail you ride and the Boneshaker train featured in Monster Train
- Realize the might of Heph, the hammer-wielding powerhouse who crafted the Covenant Outpost and the Skullcrusher engine central to Monster Train 2
Crazy Train
Alongside the above features, the Wurmkin Clan will be added to the game for all players, free of charge. They return from the original game, with a promised redesign to match Monster Train 2’s gameplay and aesthetics more closely, per the developer.
