Devilishly Fast

Solo-developed LANESHIFT is out now on PC, and coming to Xbox Series X|S and PS5 later this year. The title bills itself as a traffic simulator for bikers who love weaving in and out of traffic.

Burn rubber while squeezing between unpredictable city traffic at high speeds in solo and multiplayer sprints. Hop onto 15 distinct high-performance motorcycles, then hit the road in an all-gas-no-brakes ride towards the top of global leaderboards. Prioritize speed and nimble handling in dry weather. Maximize traction and stopping power during rain-soaked runs. Avoid collisions to multiply point totals as a heart-pumping drum-and-bass soundtrack amps up the intensity alongside the speedometer.

The title will retail for $17.99 on Steam at launch. There are 15 motorcycles in total. The game’s press release promises various weather effects like slick roads, leading to rougher handling. From scenic mountainsides to ‘twisted Tokyo roads’, there are multiple maps based on real locations.

The game’s solo-developer Shakya Ranatunga, a.k.a. FunkyMouse, had this to say: “The support LANESPLIT has received from the motorcycle community has been monumental, and I cannot thank them enough for spreading the word about my game. Whether riding solo or with friends, amid rush hour traffic or with the road all to yourself, there is no wrong way to become king of the road here.”
