Resident Evil Requiem may be Xbox Play Anywhere per Xbox’s own preview *UPDATED

The article has been updated to remove the reference to Xbox on PC with the following quote:

Editor’s Note: Removed a reference to Resident Evil Requiem coming to Xbox on PC. We apologize for the error.

Xbox themselves have previewed Resident Evil Requiem, and the end of the article suggests the game may be an Xbox Play Anywhere title.

Xbox on PC

Previews are going up for Resident Evil Requiem, and per the Xbox Wire’s Will Fulton the game may be an Xbox Play Anywhere title. Resident Evil 7, 2 Remake, and 8 are Play Anywhere titles. Resident Evil 3’s remake did not join the service, as the REVerse mutiplayer mode was set to be shutdown not long after the game joined Xbox Game Pass.

In the final sentence of the Xbox Wire preview of Resident Evil Requiem, the following is said:

Resident Evil Requiem shambles onto Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC on February 27.

Seeing Xbox on PC mentioned, while the store listing itself still only shows Xbox Series X|S is a curious one.

Resident Evil Requiem Play Anywhere

In the preview the game is described as ‘two in one’. You will play as both Grace Ashcroft and series dorky hunk, Leon Kennedy. Grace’s sections are classic survival horror. Limited resources, including ink ribbons for saving, are matched with Claire’s need to use gadgets to survive. Leon, on the other hand, is a walking tank, loaded to the gills with weaponry.

I got to see a hands-off preview last SGF, in a tense sequence with Grace walking through a dark environment. Eventually, she was chased by a gigantic, monstrous woman through tight corridors in both first and third-person gameplay. The title is set to release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam (and my Xbox on PC) on February 27th, 2026.
