
It’s been a great week for Xbox fans with Thursday’s Developer_Direct showing us in-depth looks at the upcoming titles Forza Horizon 6 and Fable, as well as a new offering from Double Fine, Kiln. Aside from the showcase there’s been lots going on in the world of video games, so here is our weekly roundup of new, reviews and shows from this week, January 19-25.
Monday:
Monday’s news focused on upcoming releases and Xbox ecosystem changes. Bungie officially confirmed Marathon will launch on March 5, while reports suggested Xbox Cloud Gaming will introduce an ad-supported access tier later this year. Additional updates included Game Pass departures, new details on Jump Space’s future, and confirmation that 007 First Light is coming to Xbox PC via Play Anywhere.

Tuesday:
Tuesday brought a mix of reveals, updates, and nostalgia-driven announcements. New Fable concept art surfaced ahead of the Xbox Developer Direct, while Life Is Strange: Reunion reunites fan-favorite characters Max and Chloe. Meanwhile, Game Pass added major titles like Death Stranding Director’s Cut and Space Marine 2, and there were fresh updates for Battlefield 6 and Fallout 76.

Wednesday:
Wednesday highlighted new releases and some surprising industry shifts. Several new titles landed on Xbox Game Pass, including the arrival of 2XKO on consoles and PC. The day was also marked by Ubisoft’s cancellation of the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake, alongside new demos and launches like G-Rebels and Arknights: Endfield.

Thursday:
Thursday was packed with big announcements and major reveals. Xbox confirmed impressive first looks at Forza Horizon 6 and Playground Games’ Fable reboot during the Developer_Direct showcase, both drawing strong reactions ahead of their 2026 releases. The reveal of Double Fine’s quirky new brawler Kiln was also shown. The day also included Ubisoft outlining a massive company restructuring, as well as details on upcoming DLC for REANIMAL,

Friday:
Friday wrapped up the week with celebrations and forward-looking announcements. Halo Studios detailed plans for the franchise’s 25th anniversary, while new demos and content drops were announced for Xbox later in the month. The day also featured a Nintendo Direct announcement focused on the Super Mario Galaxy movie and a full rundown of what’s coming to Xbox from January 26–30.
