Playground Games’ ‘Fable’ Reboot Looks AMAZING, Releases This Autumn on Xbox, PS5 and PC

Today during the Xbox Developer_Direct, Xbox and developer Playground Games finally gave us our first really good look at Fable, which has been in development since at least 2018. After an extended look, it’s fair to say the excitement is undeniable. Here’s all the details on Playground Games ‘Fable’ Reboot.

Fable once again has us step into the shoes of a ‘hero’ in the fictional land of Albion. This is a game about choices, and the consequences of your actions.

In classic Fable fashion, you’ll begin the game as a child, and in a moment of danger, you’ll discover you have powers and are the first hero in a generation. Alas, your village – and your grandma – is turned to stone! Off on adventure you go then!

Players will be pleased to know you can customise you character – looks, clothes, gender and all that jazz, and of course visit plenty of familiar locations. Bowerstone is back, and it looks incredibly detailed.

The uniqueness of Fable is back too – yes, you’ll be able to get married, buy a house, get married, have kids, getting a job. Hell, you can even be a landlord. This looks insane. Per the developers, it’s a game within a game. The reputation system is back, but its different, and far less black and white, reacting differently to your choices.

Fable arrives on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC this Autumn.
