1047 Games Adds New Splitgate ‘Arena Royale’ Mode Next Week

"Less looting, more shooting."

1047 Games have announced a pretty sizeable update for they’re recently relaunched shooter, Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. Beyond new maps for the standard arena mode, they’re introducing a new 24 player ‘Arena Royale’ mode. Check out the details and the trailer below.

Per a press release, this new ‘reimagined’ battle royale mode is built on the team’s recently reacquired ‘arena-first’ philosophy. The Arena Royale mode sees up to 24 players dropped into a central voting hub, with the players actively voting on where the match will take place.

There are four different Arena Royale maps, from frozen glaciers to a new urban battleground called Outskirts. Buy Stations have been removed, chests open automatically, and Arena Events occur that pull players together for some very fast paced arena focused action.

When we sat down to design Arena Royale, we knew we wanted to push it closer to that arena shooter feel,” said 1047 Games Design Director Josh Watson. “We kept coming back to this core idea: less looting, more shooting.

Alongside the new mode, 1047 Games have shared the following details:

  • Two brand-new arena maps:
    • Tri-Hard – A high-flying arena built around launch portals and jump pads, turning every fight into aerial chaos. This map leans lighthearted and unhinged, and is all about risky plays, epic launches, and catching opponents off guard.
    • Runway – Set in a neon cityscape inspired by the energy of Shinjuku, Runway is designed around strong portal routes, fast rotations, and clear power positions that reward movement and aggression.
  • An all-new limited-time event, “Teabag Takeover”
    • You read that right. Teabag Takeover arrives on Friday, January 23! This new Limited Event is a celebration of a long-forgotten sign of respect. Some might even call it an elegant greeting, for a more civilized age. Players can jump into matches and teabag their opponents to earn points toward unlocking new teabag themed rewards.
  • A new mastery camo, Isotromic
    • Awarded to players who unlock chase camos on every available weapon. If you see Isotromic in a match, you know that player put in the work.
  • Added Proximity Chat to Arena Royale.
  • A wide range of bug fixes, balance updates, and overall stability improvements.

Splitgate: Arena Reloaded Update 2.2 featuring all of this is launching on all platforms – Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5 and PC across Steam and the Epic Game Store on January 22nd.
