Xbox has confirmed a Developer Direct for January 2026. It will air on January 22nd at 1 PM ET, featuring three games.
The January tradition continues, with the next Xbox Developer Direct now officially announced. The show will feature the following titles:
- Fable
- Forza Horizon 6
- Beast of Reincarnation
It will air at 1:00 PM on January 22nd. This is the fourth year of the event, which has seen a surprise game added in each year. The first year saw HI-FI Rush announced and shadow dropped. The second year saw Visions of Mana as a late inclusion. Last year had a NINJA GAIDEN II Black announcement and a shadow drop. We wonder what the surprise – if any – will be this time?
Forza Horizon 6
Forza is finally heading to Japan. Fans have been begging for it for as long as the series has been a thing. Forza Horizon 4 and 5 rocketed the offshoot into one of the biggest games in the Western gaming world. What we’ll see is described as “The segment will deep-dive into a very first look at gameplay, including reveals of new features – and how Japan comes to life in this stunning new installment.“
Fable
Playground’s Fable was announced what feels like a century ago. After being delayed from its original 2025 target, we’ll finally get a proper gameplay breakdown. One of Xbox’s more beloved original franchises, we’ve only caught glimpses of what this series restart has in store. For this one:
“Devs from the Playground team will unveil the magic and mischief that awaits players in this fresh new beginning for the franchise, including a first look at some stunning new gameplay. Of course, the core themes of Fable will all be there – choice, consequence, drama, action, British humor and (of course) chickens, all reimagined for existing fans and new players alike.“
Beast of Reincarnation
Game Freak is not making a Pokémon game, and it looks beautiful. This title was revealed at last June’s Xbox showcase, and we’ll finally get to know if it’s an action game or more of a Souls-like. The Xbox Wire post describes it as a “one-person, one-dog action RPG.“
