The Year Ahead | Over 30+ Games To Look Out For in 2026

Vampire Crawlers

Expected to launch sometime during 2026 on PC via Steam/Xbox PC, Xbox Series (Play Anywhere supported), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5 consoles – it’s also a Game Pass day one title!

The genre-defining and dangerously addictive Vampire Survivors turns into a first person semi-automated dungeon crawler, and it looks absolutely bananas. The game’s iconic artstyle, its infectious humor and banger soundtrack is being turned into a brand new experience, another one that seemingly starts off quite calm and then goes absolutely chaotic, thanks to massive card synergies and high octane action.

Expect this one to become one of the most insanely addictive titles of the year.

The Blood of Dawnwalker

Releasing in 2026 on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5

A brand new RPG from developer Rebel Wolves, which was founded by a few former Witcher 3 developers. Set in a fourteenth-century Europe that’s engulfed in chaos, with the black death killing many in the population. This moment is when a clique of powerful vampires seek to take control. You play as Coen, a young man who has become a Dawnwalker – half human, half vampire. The whole takes place across just 30 days, with an innovative time mechanic to contend with. Cool!

Tides of Annihilation

Not slated for this year (no word on release dates or windows!), but nonetheless coming to PC and consoles

Fancy visuals, hectic and frantic combat, and long + flowing hairs. Tides of Annihilation is something to watch for if you enjoy spectacles, 1v1 action combat, and striking actors that look like they belong on a Louis Vuitton cover.

Out of Words

Coming in 2026 on PC (Epic Game Store), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

Out of Words is a collaboration between Kong Orange, the game development studio behind Felix the Reaper, WiredFly, a stop-motion animation studio specialised in artistic stop-motion works, and Morten Søndergaard, an acclaimed artist and poet. It’s a hand-animated co-operative adventure, and it looks lovely.

Mixtape

Coming in 2026 on PC (Steam, Xbox PC), Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Mixtape feels extremely nostalgic to an era that many of us ol’grey beards look back on fondly, and the game smartly ties its excellent music selection to feed on to those memories – not just for the player, but for the game’s central character. We’ve played it, and in some ways, it feels like a little like Split Fiction, with the team at Beethoven & Dinosaur mixing up gameplay on the fly, from rocking out in the car mashing buttons, to a surprise QTE style handshake. Can’t wait.

Jon "Sikamikanico" Clarke

Stuck on this god-forsaken island. Father of two, wishes he could play more games but real life always gets in the way. Prefers shorter and often smarter experiences, but Halo is King.
