The Year Ahead | Over 30+ Games To Look Out For in 2026

Hela

Launching later this year on PC via Steam, Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles

Developer Windup Games (the creators of the very enjoyable ‘Unravel’ series) and publisher Knights Peak are making third-person (cooperative!) open-world adventure game ‘Hela’. You and three friends play as little mice in a large open world. Looks lovely.

Mewgenics

Launches 10 February on PC via Steam

From the creators of ‘The Blinding of Isaac’ comes Mewgenics – Build the ultimate cat army through tactical breeding and send them into deep, challenging turn-based adventures. Draft abilities, collect items, and manipulate genetics across generations in this roguelike tactics game.

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter

Launching in Fall of this year on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch consoles
Check out our review of the first one here!

Developer Nihon Falcom came around last year and dropped a comprehensive, near word-for-word remake of their original ‘Trails in the Sky’ adventure that not only enhanced an already fantastic JRPG of yore but expanded on it through a new perspective and made it available on newer hardware for a larger audience to experience. Now, this second game continues straight off an already excellent first game, and we can’t wait to jump back into Liberl.

Valor Mortis

Slated for this year on PC via Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation 5 consoles

Not another pesky souls-like! Well hold up, because Valor Mortis is a first-person action soulslike set in the Napoleonic era. You’ll rise from death as a former soldier of Napoleon’s army, wield supernatural powers, battle horrifying monsters, and unravel a conspiracy that threatens all of humanity.

SealChain: Call of Blood

Launching 20 February on PC via Steam

Per the developers, SealChain is a roguelike game where items can link together to form chain reactions. Items can also be arranged into specific formations to create seals, granting special effects. Carnage!

Stuck on this god-forsaken island. Father of two, wishes he could play more games but real life always gets in the way. Prefers shorter and often smarter experiences, but Halo is King.
