We’ve already shared what we think are going to be some of the biggest games for 2026, but in this industry, you never know quite what’s going to hit and what might miss. There are plenty more games to look out for in 2026, and while it’s almost impossible to cover everything, we’re certainly going to try!
From small indie teams to established developers punching well above their weight-class, there’s a huge number of interesting looking titles slated for this year. Forget all those enormous ‘AAA’ games – let’s dive into the wonderful world of everything else!
Again – no particular order to this list, but these are just some of the games that we’re excited for across all platforms that don’t take up all the oxygen in the room – what’s scary is we kept remembering things that we’d forgotten about…it could probably be twice as long really. Madness!
2026 is even crazier than you thought:

Starsand Island
Launching 1 February on PC via Steam/Xbox PC, Xbox Series (Play Anywhere supported), Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5 consoles
Starsand Island is an ambitious little life simulation game that has players take on the role of a city dweller returning back to a secluded island they once called home. Between the odd jobs you can take on, to the customisation that’s available to you, Starsand wants to keep you busy but in a good way—there’s no rush to nearly everything you do in this game, so if fishing strikes your fancy after some dungeon exploration, you do you!
The game also boasts a lovely anime aesthetic that makes both the island and its characters a treat to look at and interact with. Will you find your true love here? You just might!

Mouse P. I. For Hire
Releases 19 March on PC via Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch consoles
Developers Fumi Games and Publisher Playside have made Mouse: P.I For Hire. With a super unique artstyle, this is a ‘full-throttle FPS‘, full of great animation and some incredibly inventive weaponry. Looks marvellous!

Darwin’s Paradox!
Launches sometime in 2026 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series consoles.
A surprise from Konami. Play as Darwin the Octopus in this neat looking adventure platformer from ZDT Studio. Per that team, Darwin’s Paradox! is a ‘grand adventure worthy of a true animated movie.’ Looks great!

Super Meat Boy 3D
Slated for a release early this year on PC via Steam/Xbox PC, Xbox Series (Play Anywhere supported), and PlayStation 5 consoles
Day One Game Pass Launch
Super Meat Boy 3D is a tough as nails platformer where you play as an animated cube of meat who’s trying to save his girlfriend (who happens to be made of bandages) from an evil fetus in a jar wearing a tux – IN 3D!

Code Vein II
Launches 29 January on PC via Steam, Xbox Series, and PlayStation 5 consoles
Often dubbed “Anime Souls”, the first Code Vein did a fair bit well to stick out in such a saturated genre. Now the sequel is on the horizon and it seems to be improving upon what worked and moving away from what didn’t. Just this time there’s some time travel stuff and it’s all about gold, not red. Oh and you get to ride a sick bike!
