Prepare for Chaos – South Park is coming to Fortnite

Hot off the heels of the excellent ‘The Simpsons’ crossover, Epic Games are doing it all over again! Prepare for absolute chaos, because South Park is coming to Fortnite. Check out the trailer below!

In the genuinely great trailer seen above, the origins of how the South Park crew have ended up in Fortnite is explained. Butters feels all left out when playing Fortnite, as Cartman, Kyle, Stan and Kenny are in a squad and he can’t play with them – he’s also left out because, per Cartman, Butters ‘lowkey-sucks’ at Fortnite.

Accordingly, Butters transforms into Professor Chaos, and wielding the stick of truth, transforms the South Park school bus into Fortnite’s Battle Bus. The boys are sent hurtling into the world of Fortnite proper. In comes a new mode, called ‘Quints’ – Butters gets to play now, because it’s time for 5 player squads, a feature that’s long been requested. Fingers crossed it sticks around when the event is done and dusted.

While this new Fortnite X South Park crossover seems pretty extensive, it’s not quite as expansive as ‘The Simpsons’ event. While that occasion saw the entire island become Springfield, this new event adds a new area called ‘Cartmanland’ to the island, which while sizeable, isn’t a complete transformation. We can expect tons of South Park references including some delicious ‘cheesy poofs’.

Per Epic Games, “Anything is possible with the power of imagination! South Park has arrived in Fortnite. Channel Cartman, Kenny, Stan, Kyle, and Butters with their Outfits in the Shop and get rewarded with items from the free Born in Chaos Pass! Don’t forget to explore Cartmanland and jump into the new Quints 5-person playlist. Live Friday until February 5.

The South Park X Fortnite event begins as a part of Chapter 7 starting this Friday, January 9th.

Stuck on this god-forsaken island. Father of two, wishes he could play more games but real life always gets in the way. Prefers shorter and often smarter experiences, but Halo is King.
