Not much new

During an interview at today’s New Game+ Showcase, Obsidian reiterated old information and gave us a few new tidbits about their upcoming Anniversary Update for Avowed. We learned that the new game plus system will lower your weapons back down to their base levels. You will be able to keep them. There were new character creation presents, and photo Mode was shown off, as well.

The new info was a staff weapon for mages as well as the ability to play as the Dwarves, Orlan, and Aumaua races. A lot of this was already detailed in last month’s blog post on Obsidian’s website last month. The biggest news was an oddly dubbed in PlayStation 5 port announcement at the very end of the interview segment.

I reviewed the game back at launch:

Welcome, Envoys, to the Living Lands. A place full of wonders, danger, and mysteries. Obsidian is an excellent studio. Avowed shows what they can do when budget and time are bountiful. I have spent nearly 50 hours in this little slice of Eora. It is a previously unexplored part of the lands of Pillars of Eternity. Avowed is gorgeous, being the latest Xbox 1st party title to push Unreal Engine to its limits. It is a promise fulfilled; one made when Xbox went on an acquisition spree years ago. Take great studios and support them to become even better.
