The Year Ahead | The Biggest Games of 2026

As we all start settling in to the new year, the team here at XboxEra started to take stock and make plans for the year ahead…and oh my good lord there are so many incredible looking games! Seriously, there are so many that we’ve had to split things out in to two different lists. The first of course, is this one – the biggest games of 2026. We’re talking Grand Theft Auto VI, Crimson Desert, Forza Horizon 6 and Wolverine.

Our additional list focuses on other games, be it smaller indie titles or larger ‘AA’ productions. To be honest we’re pretty sure they’re just as interesting to play, but aren’t likely to soak up all the news, views and play time in the way in which this collection of titles is more than likely to do.

So without further ado, in no particular order, here’s the biggest games of 2026 – time to put these on your radar!

2026 is insane:

Crimson Desert

Launching March 19th, 2026 on PC via Steam, macOS via App Store, PlayStation 5,
and Xbox Series X|S
.

We got to play this back at Summer Game Fest 2025 in LA and it was fantastic. A few short segments showed off the crazy variety in gameplay systems for this over-the-top, physics heavy action-RPG. We’re not entirely sure if the story will hold up, but we have a feeling the gameplay will be unlike anything else – in the best of ways.

Forza Horizon 6

Launching 2026 on PC via Steam/Xbox PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 (at some point safter launch) | Day One Game Pass Launch

Forza Motorsport might be on an extended hiatus, but the team at PlayGround Games are back this year to wow us with the next iteration of the Forza Horizon franchise. Finally, afters years of fans asking for it to happen, the party is heading to Japan in what promises to be the biggest, and certainly the prettiest Forza Horizon game yet. We are EXCITED.

Arknights: Endfield

Launching January 22nd, 2026 on PC via GRYPHLINK, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android via Google Play
Check out our impressions of the latest Closed Beta test thisaway!

Arknights: Endfield is one of the big titles we’re absolutely looking forward to this year. Dropping right this month, players take on the role of the “Endmin” as a pioneer a tired and historied land. Featuring a combination of action RPG and base and factory-building gameplay that ties into a curious narrative, Endfield is one you’ve got to try if you love action that can be played on a controller or a touchscreen and for those who want to shake up their action with a bit more beyond perfectly timing skills and bounces.

BIOHAZARD | Resident Evil: Requiem

Launching February 26th on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

In the ninth mainline entry in the series, you will play as FBI agent Grace Ashcroft in sections focused on scares. Leon Kennedy returns as a grizzled-looking murder-hobo for more action-oriented sequences. You’ll get to head back to Raccoon City and see the latest horror to befall the ‘REVerse’ in February.

Marvel 1943: The Rise of Hydra

Slated for “Beyond Early 2026”, no specified platforms at this time (but we’d assume PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5)

We don’t know a huge amount about Marvel 1943 quite yet, as all we’ve seen is a flashy trailer with little substance beyond establishing that it’s set in Paris, 1943 and features Captain America and Black Panther investigating something or other. It’s a new team at Skydance New Media working with Marvel Games , and is an ‘original story where an ensemble of four heroes must overcome their differences and form an uneasy alliance to confront their common enemy.’
