Late last month, publisher Storytaco shared some impressive stats from two of their latest releases on the PC and mobile market. First off, we have details on how well the sequel of ‘Five Hearts Under One Roof Season 2‘ has performed on the Chinese CDK resale platform Phoenixgame—surpassing 50K units worldwide within the first week of its launch. The publisher also continued in its statement that “the Chinese market in particular” had seen the title reach a high purchase conversion rate despite being an FMV game, “demonstrating strong appeal among subculture and story game fans”.

The success of the sequel has shown that the popularity of the original ‘Five Nights Under One Roof’ (which has sold 300K units on Steam globally as of the press release) was not a short-term one but something that has become a bit of a fandom for the FMV game series. Those fans have also been showing up in person, as demonstrated by the article’s key art featuring some of the cast members of the game and the image above. The publisher confirmed an enthusiastic local response at the Motionimefest fan meeting held in Jakarta, Indonesia, which has demonstrated a growing and secure solid fanbase presence that the Five Hearts Under One Roof series holds across Asia.
On that note, the publisher plans on releasing more content centred around Five Hearts, including a digital photo book, the official soundtrack, as well as Storytaco’s representative FMV titles ‘Don’t FOOL ME, Beauties!’, and ‘Heroines Through My Lens’.
A Storytaco representative stated, “It is especially meaningful that Season 2 is achieving strong results so quickly in global markets, including China,” adding, “Through the Five Hearts Under One Roof series and various FMV titles, we hope to deliver Storytaco’s own emotionally rich year-end experience to users.”
The No. 1 sales ranking on a major Chinese CDK platform demonstrates that the Five Hearts Under One Roof series has moved beyond one-off success to establish a stable fanbase within the Asian subculture market. Industry observers view this as a case that confirms the long-term viability of the FMV genre and are watching its future developments with interest.
Up next, we’ve news that Storytaco and Kidari Studio’s latest “subculture” Boys Love (BL) role-playing game ‘Zerowake GATES‘ saw a steady 200K concurrent user base on mobile platforms—including a major collab with the popular BL webtoon IP “Low Tide in Twilight”.
The developer and publisher have since shared a content roadmap for Q1 2026, which includes a collaboration with another BL IP “Limited Run”, story and dungeon chapters, events, and a large-scale update targeting a March release. More details on that can be found below:
■ Low Tide in Twilight Collaboration Coming This December
Riding this wave of success, Storytaco has shared details on its upcoming content roadmap. In December, Zerowake GATES will receive a major update featuring the popular BL webtoon IP Low Tide in Twilight, which boasts a global fan base.
The update will add a new guiding story and event dungeon inspired by the original work’s emotional tone, along with a Christmas-themed seasonal event. Fans who have been waiting for the Low Tide in Twilight collaboration since launch can expect a meaningful update that’s also likely to bring in new players.
■ What’s Coming in Q1 2026
Following the ‘Low Tide in Twilight’ update, Zerowake GATES will continue expanding its content throughout Q1 2026.
* January will introduce a limited-time update featuring another popular BL IP, Limited Run. Players can look forward to a new guiding story, an event dungeon, a New Year’s event, the launch of a Steam DLC, and a new repeatable challenge mode tentatively titled Infinite Tower.
* In February, a brand-new original guide character will be added. The update includes a dedicated guiding story and event dungeon, a Valentine’s Day event, a 100-day anniversary celebration, and the release of Chapter 0.5, further expanding the main storyline.
* March will bring a large-scale update in collaboration with a major IP. While details haven’t been revealed yet, the update will focus on expanding the main story and gameplay, introducing deeper progression systems and new competitive elements.
■ Ongoing Improvements Driven by Player Feedback
In addition to new content, Storytaco is continuing to refine the game based on player feedback. Ongoing updates will focus on quality-of-life improvements, balance adjustments, and smoother overall gameplay to support long-term enjoyment.
“We’re closely reviewing the feedback we’ve received from players since launch,” said Storytaco and Kidari Studio. “Alongside regular updates, including major IP collaborations, we’ll continue improving the game so players can enjoy an even more polished and enjoyable experience.”
‘Five Hearts Under One Roof Season 2’ is available on PC via Steam/Phoenixgame. The BL RPG ‘Zerowake GATES’ is a free-to-play title available on PC via Steam/Erolabs, iOS, and Android via Google Play.
