Kicking off gaming events for 2026 with a bit of a surprise – a brand new showcase called ‘New Game +’ being put together by Gaming World Media. It airs later this week, and is set to feature 45 games.
Per the folks at Gaming World Media, “The New Game + Showcase is a creator-led games showcase designed to put authentic excitement back at the center of game reveals. Unlike traditional showcases, we don’t accept paid placements—every game we feature is there because our team of six core creators is genuinely excited about it. Our goal is to give developers and publishers a stage where their game isn’t competing for attention with dozens of sponsored slots, but instead stands out in front of communities that want to discover it.“
That’s some bold ambition! The whole thing has been put together by a collection of content creators – namely – Luke Stephens, Luality, Jake Lucky, IamRob, Blue Thunder, and HUN2R. If you’re old like I am, you may not have heard of any of them, and that’s okay – the world is a big place.
What Games Will We See?
While I’m sure there’ll be a few surprises, we do know some of the titles that we can expect to see during the show. The show has apparently been curated by the team that has put it together, with a selection of indie games to big AAA blockbusters.
Crimson Desert was featured in the trailer, so we can certainly expect that title to show up in some form. Paradark Studio will be sharing another look at ‘EXEKILLER‘, a new ‘retro-futuristic’ western FPS. DON’T NOD are also onboard, so perhaps we’ll get another look at the sci-fi action adventure game Aphelion, which is coming to Game Pass later this year.
Atomic Heart developer Mundfish are also involved with their crazy-looking MMO RRPG shooter ‘The Cube‘ set to be featured, and THQ Nordic are rocking up with another showing for the fantastic looking ‘The Eternal Life of Goldman‘- and I saw some footage of the highly anticipated ‘The Expanse: Osiris Reborn‘ in there too.
Where to Watch the New Game+ Showcase?
While there isn’t yet a scheduled livestream to link to directly, the New Game+ Showcase is set to air on Thusrday January 8th at 1300hrs PT, 1600hrs EST, 2100hrs GMT. The show is broadcasting on YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram, Kick and X. So you’ve got plenty of choice on where to tune in!
