There’s a brand new developer diary now available from IO Interactive, that once again focuses on their upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light. Check it out below.
The previous developer diary in the series focused on Gameplay and the ‘creative approach’. This one is partnered with NVIDIA, and goes into a little detail on the technology behind the game, from IOI’s Glacier engine to working with NVIDIA directly.
Per the folks at IO Interactive – “The primary tech that we are developing with together with NVIDIA is all the DLSS features, especially DLSS4. Everything from multi-frame generation to super-resolution is incredibly useful and something we have integrated very, very closely into the game. We’ve made a new volumetric smoke system that really tries to push the limits of how we can represent smoke and fog and explosions in the game. And this is something that’s not been done anywhere before.”
“Having software and hardware working together and getting the best out of it while using these techniques really helps us to push the limits to give us a freedom that our designers can really go beyond limitations of the hardware. We also want to make sure we can improve on the action elements of the game. Shooting, cover mechanics and all that sort of stuff has also taken a huge leap forward to make sure that it’s an actual action game.”

Beyond the dev diary, 007 First Light PC Specs have been revealed, and a pretty decent way out from release (the game was delayed from March to May of this year). In a post on IOI’s website, the team have shared that they are ‘proud to announce a collaboration with NVIDIA GeForce to deliver an enhanced PC experience for 007 First Light.’
Per Ulas Karademir, CTO at IO Interactive – “Our partnership with NVIDIA on 007 First Light allows us to deliver a PC experience that matches the level of quality we believe the Bond franchise deserves. Performance, responsiveness, and visual fidelity, it all needs to feel effortless for the player, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX technologies including DLSS 4 enables us to deliver exactly that”
007 First Light is now releasing May 27th, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
