Josh Fairhurst has stepped down as CEO of Limited Run Games

The co-founder of Limited Run Games, Josh Fairhurst has announced he has stepped down as CEO of the company. While he is still currently President, will be leaving the business entirely in March of 2026.

Sharing the news on social media, Josh revealed that he actually stepped down as CEO back in September. “It wasn’t an easy decision to make. Limited Run Games has been my life for ten years. I love what we do and I love the people I get to work with – but I also recognize that Limited Run could benefit from new leadership, who will bring fresh perspectives and original ideas to drive LRG through its next ten years and beyond.

Following the announcement, he has since shared in follow up notice that he’s also planning to withdraw from social media and take an extended break. “I never set out to be a public figure and I’m looking forward to a long break from that. I want to put my energy into things that matter more, like family and friends.

Limited Run Games was first established in 2015 with the intent of focusing on physical media, in an industry that is pushing to be increasingly all digital. It was acquired in 2022 by Embracer, with the other co-founder, Douglas Bogart leaving the company in 2023.

We wish Josh the best of luck.
