The Land Yet Remains Flat

Today, developer Aspyr announced over Twitter that its coming remaster of the classic immersive sim, ‘Deus Ex Remastered’, has been postponed away from its initial 5 February 2026 release. The company states that this is to “better meet fan expectations and deliver the best possible experience for players” and that they will have more details in the near future. All existing pre-orders will be refunded as of this announcement.

Deus Ex Remastered was set to launch across PC and consoles, bringing Ion Storm’s finest work to a new audience after its initial release well over 20 years ago. However, in this author’s opinion, the remaster’s visuals fell short of the game’s distinct dark, dystopian setting and it appears other fans of the series agree. In the interim, you can play the original game by picking up a copy over on GOG or head over and try the enjoyable ‘Deus Ex: Human Revolution’ (available on PC and consoles).
