If you enjoyed the police-noir action of The Precinct, or are perhaps yet to dive in, now might be a very good time. A new update is now available that brings man’s best friend along for the ride in stopping crime, as your new canine partner. Time to hit the streets with The Precinct K-9 Update, available now on PC and consoles!
Publisher Kwalee and developer Fallen Tree Games have announced and released a new update for The Precinct, that’s available right now across PC and consoles, and outside of a heap of quality of life improvements and bug fixes, it introduces a fully trained working dog from the Precinct kennels to join you on patrol.

Per a press release, “The Precinct K-9 update lets players deploy a fully trained working dog from the precinct kennels. Their new companion can be washed, fed and customized there before heading out on patrol where the dog will obey a range of commands, including subduing dangerous attackers, pursuing fleeing suspects and sniffing out concealed narcotics.“
This is the second major update the game has received since release, with the previous one adding a tow truck and improved vehicle customisation. We reviewed the game back at launch, and had a reasonably good time, considering we’re normally the criminals in these sorts of games.
“The Precinct has been a pleasant surprise. Solid shooting and driving mechanics, surprisingly deep police-related activities and an enjoyable 80’s cop movie style presentation mostly make up for the small open world and uninspired plot. The end result is a fun little romp onto the streets of crime – but from a cop’s point of view, for once.“
