007 First Light is releasing Spring of next year, specifically March 27th, 2026 (for now). We’re of course really excited to get it in our hands. Made by the wizards over at IO Interactive, we’ve been hearing about this brand new addition to the 007 game universe for a little while now. So we know when we’ll be able to purchase the game, but for all those who are already subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, there’s always one question. Is it releasing on the service? Keep reading to find out!
Having seen various gameplay trailers and clips by now, 007 First Light is looking to be a bombastic return to action games. Full of giant and epic set pieces, some really fancy cars, and a bunch of gadgets. We got to check the game out at Gamescom 2025, and this is what we had to say about it:
I can’t think of a better pairing of developer and franchise than the team at IO Interactive and James Bond. They’ve brought everything they’ve learned from the fantastic Hitman series, and after checking out the mechanics, gameplay and open-ended level design that the team have in store for us with 007 First Light, I’ve come away feeling that this is going to be a match made in heaven. The name’s Bond. James Bond.
Now let’s see if 007 First Light is releasing day one on Xbox Game Pass.
Is 007 First Light on Xbox Game Pass?
Unfortunately, 007 First Light is not releasing on Xbox Game Pass day one. This means every tier in the service, at least for now, as you never know what may change. The game, however, is releasing on the Xbox platform, (alongside PS5 and PC.) You’ll need to purchase the game on Xbox, PS5, Steam or another PC game store if you want to experience this next chapter in the 007 franchise. While this is a little disappointing, the Hitman games are no strangers to the service, so 007 may appear one day too. Be sure to keep an eye out on our channel for coverage of the game when it does come out though!
