Developers Neon Giant Tease a Big Reveal at The Game Awards

Developer Neon Giant have broken their lengthy silence and teased something fans have long been waiting for – their next game, which has only been known as “Project Impact“.

In a new post on social media, the team posted an image and simply said “Nothing is off limits. Don’t miss December 11.” I think that’s a safe bet for The Game Awards, don’t you?

Struggling to remember Neon Giant? Let me refresh your memory. Back in 2021, Neon Giant released the cyberpunk top-down ARPG ‘The Ascent’ – it looked phenomenal then, and it still holds up today – and it’s a great game too. Back in 2022, they were then acquired by Publisher Krafton, and aside from some screenshots, we’ve not seen much else.

What is Project Impact?

Thanks to a report from MP1st, we do know a little bit about the game. It’s set to be an ambitious open-world first person game set in a fictional location named ‘Port Desire’. The cyberpunk-theme is set to return, and per the developers “expect a far more grounded world and narrative approach“. There’s more over at MP1st, but it sounds pretty intriguing, and it won’t be long until we find out more!

We were really big fans of their previous title, ‘The Ascent’ here at XboxEra, with our Reviews Editor Jesse saying “Stunning graphics, excellent music, innovative gameplay, and so many other factors come together to not only make one of the best releases of the year but one of my favorite games of all time.“
