007: First Light Developer Livestream Announced

Perhaps acutely aware that their brand new game in this long-running spy franchise needs to charm its way on to our harddrives in 2026, developer IO Interactive are pulling out all the stops. A brand new gameplay deepdive has been announced, and it’s coming later this week!

Sharing the news on social media, the official 007:First Light account shared the following update, saying “Tune in as we pull back the curtain on all things gameplay with Andreas Krogh, Gameplay Director, and Thomas Pulluelo, Senior Level Designer during our Beyond the Light dev stream!“

Looks like we’re getting an even deeper dive into the gameplay systems that are powering IO Interactives new James Bond adventure, beyond the deep dive you were all treated too during back in September during Sony’s State of Play. Most recently, we got a look at Bond’s new car – the new Aston Martin Valhalla – during the Xbox Partner Preview, in a somewhat brief and underwhelming reveal. Still, at least we know it’s going to be Xbox Play Anywhere.

I’d actually seen the gameplay demo before, back at Gamescom earlier this year, and it’s one I really can’t wait to actually get some hands on time with. As for my impressions, I shared that “I can’t think of a better pairing of developer and franchise than the team at IO Interactive and James Bond. They’ve brought everything they’ve learned from the fantastic Hitman series, and after checking out the mechanics, gameplay and open-ended level design that the team have in store for us with 007 First Light, I’ve come away feeling that this is going to be a match made in heaven.“

When is the 007:First Light Developer Livestream?

As per the tweet above, the livestream is right around the corner. It’s logged for December 3rd, at 8am PST/11am EST and 5pm CET. You’ll be able to tune in over on Twitch via the developers channel, though no simultaneous YouTube broadcast has yet been scheduled. Looks like it’s the first in a series though, so – plenty of time for more.
