If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been very much looking forward to getting your hands on Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake. While it was announced back in 2020, the game had reportedly had a bit of a rough time during it’s development journey. That journey, however, may be soon coming to an end.
The last we’d seen from Ubisoft in any official capacity was a short teaser trailer (seen above) that said the game was going to be launching next year. Now, per a new report from Insider Gaming, “sources close to to the game, the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake is scheduled to release in mid-January 2026.“

It’s been a very lengthy development process for what should arguably be a fairly straightforward remake. Indeed, the game was originally meant to release back in 2021, but saw several delays and Ubisoft Toronto coming on board to join the development team at Ubisoft Montreal. Since then, it’s been very, very quiet. If the report is indeed accurate, then perhaps a reveal at The Game Awards is very likely on the cards.
Elsewhere in Ubisoft news, the folks at Insider Gaming also reported that another Ubisoft remake is also on the way a lot sooner that expected – Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. You can read more about that here.
