Announced during the Xbox Partner Preview, this is ‘Erosion‘, a ‘timeshifting open-world roguelike set in a post-apocalyptic Wild West where every death costs a decade in a race against time.’ Check out the brand new trailer for this destruction-filled, voxel-based title below!
Developed by Plot Twist (the team behind The Last Case of Benedict Fox) and published by Lyrical Games, ‘Erosion‘ is a brand new IP, and is built entirely in voxels. What that means, is that you can blow a lot of it up, which is always fun!
As for what the game is about, I’ll let developers Plot Twist fill you in – “In Erosion, players find themselves in a distant future where a mysterious, sentient rock formation called the Pillar is consuming civilization piece by piece. They will descend into the mysterious Pillar to battle through chaotic, fully destructible dungeons, fighting to get one step closer to saving the protagonist’s daughter or losing her entirely to time itself. Every decision changes the story, and every death takes time off the clock.“
Erosion plans to challenge players with ‘intense, fast-paced combat as they delve into roguelite dungeons‘. These dungeons of course, will be populated with enemies and bosses, but you’ll be able to take them on thanks to various powerful perks and skills.
While doing all that, you’ll be able to explore a post-apocalyptic Wild West open-world, and cruise around in customizable hover-car like vehicles. You’ll encounter characters, take on quests and side stories and the choices you make will quite literally ‘reshape the future’.

- EXPERIENCE EVERY POSSIBLE FUTURE – Die in a dungeon? Wake up ten years later. That peaceful farm is now a cultist compound worshipping the Great Ol’ Rooster. That store owner you helped? They’ve built an empire. Your choices permeate across decades, transforming factions, townsfolk, and entire regions. Once you’ve mastered full timeline control you can rewrite every possible future.
- EXPLORE AN OPEN WORLD – Explore a massive wasteland overworld where you can join a cult, steal a slick new ride, and gamble your hard-earned Cheddar away at the Al Cashino. Go sand fishing for buried creatures, hunt bounties, try your luck in duels, or just race trucks through the salt flats. Complete quests to unlock permanent upgrades and reshape the future.
- ENDLESS WAYS TO CAUSE PROBLEMS – Collect dozens of weapons from ritual bows that draw their strength from your blood, to homing smart guns, to the legendary Ebony Rooster that shoots bouncy eggs. Experiment with 100+ skills and modifiers to create absurd synergies. Command an army of cats. Deploy orbital turrets. Clone yourself. The build possibilities are endless.
- BREAK EVERYTHING – Destructible voxel environments mean cover is temporary and collateral damage is guaranteed. Blow up walls, turn locations into rubble, and flip the poker table! Physics-driven destruction meets bullet-hell combat for that sweet, sweet emergent mayhem.

The game is being published by fairly new video game publisher Lyrical Games, who shared some thoughts via a press release – “At Lyrical Games, we are looking to work with ambitious developers,” says Blake Rochkind, Head of Lyrical Games. “When we understood the breadth of experience Plot Twist had in mind for Erosion, alongside the incredible visual and unique tone, we knew we had to support their vision.”
Erosion will launch Spring 2026 in Early Access on Steam, Xbox on PC and Game Pass. Players can wishlist the game now on Steam and Xbox for PC.
