A New REPLACED Trailer looks to be on the way

2025 has been an incredible year for video games, and 2026 looks to be equally fantastic, with titles like Grand Theft Auto 6, Fable, Halo Campaign Evolved, Wolverine and more coming to gamers on various platforms. One game I’m really looking forward to is something a little smaller, a little more indie in nature – REPLACED. And it looks like the development team at Sad Cat Studios might be readying a new REPLACED trailer for us to enjoy – the only question is – is this for The Game Awards, or for Xbox’s upcoming Partner Preview?

In a post on social media, Developer Sad Cat Studios shared a little tease, with an image of a notebook and three simple words – “See you soon.” Look at little closer at that notebook image, and you can make out the words “REPLACED TRAILER“, alongside a ‘SHOT LIST‘ storyboard and a ‘RUNTIME‘ of 1 minute and 20 seconds. So it seems pretty clear a new trailer is on the way, the only question is – will it be appearing during The Game Awards in December or will it make a splash during the Xbox Partner Preview this Thursday?

First announced in June of 2021, REPLACED has been in development for a very long time. It was delayed to 2023, then again delayed in 2024. While it was meant to arrive on this side of 2025, it saw one last delay to ‘early 2026’, with the team finally expressing confidence in the announced arrival.

Sad Cat Studio’s Game Director, Yura Zhdanovich said that “This is the first time I’m addressing this in person, and that’s because I can finally say it with confidence. REPLACED will be released in Spring of 2026.“

In my hands-on preview for REPLACED, I have to admit, I was incredibly impressed by what the team have made, saying “I think it’s fair to say that my time with REPLACED has achieved two things. One, it’s stormed its way up to the very tippity-top of my most anticipated games list, and two, I realise how freaking impatient I am to get my hands on it again. It may have taken a little extra time in the oven, but the developers at Sad Cat Studios have worked some magic here, and REPLACED is shaping up to be something very special indeed. A 2.5D action-adventure at the very height of the genre, redefining what’s possible and providing players with an immersive, stylish world to simply get lost in. I can’t fucking wait.”

Reading this back today, the sentiment stands. 2025 has been an incredibly great year for amazing video games across the board, and with titles like REPLACED heading our way in 2026, a sense another great year for gamers on the cards.
