As spotted by mobilegamer.biz, it appears that Mojang Studios and ‘Candy Crush Saga’ developer King have soft launched a new title under the Minecraft umbrella. ‘Mojang Blast’ as it’s called is what Mojang considers to be a combination of “modern match puzzle gameplay with ever-evolving scenarios set in a Minecraft-themed world. The game will offer quick, easy to jump-in-and-play sessions plus the ability to unlock and build imaginative Minecraft-style spaces.”
It is common for mobile games, particularly those by western developers, to see launches like these in specific regions to gather feedback. In this case, the playtest is time-limited, up to a week or two, to gather early feedback and refine the experience before broader release. You won’t be able to participate in the playtest if you’re outside of Malaysia and you’ll need an iOS device to get in on the action to begin with, but those will be expanded as Minecraft Blast gets closer to a global launch.
