Embark, having smashed 700,000 concurrent players and selling over 4 million copies of extraction shooter ARC Raiders, issuing a number of updates, they’ve also listened to the community. Now, a long requested multiplayer feature is on the way – an ARC Raiders ‘Duos’ mode is coming, and they’re even making the cosmetic store prices cheaper.
In a blog post over on the games website, the team shared the news on both an ARC Raiders Duos Mode and the reduced store pricing, saying “We have silently tested and enabled Duo prioritized matchmaking, beginning earlier this week. Duo matchmaking will work like this: first, we prioritize Solos and Squads to play separately. After that, we prioritize Duos to play with other Duos, and for Trios to play with Trios. Please note that this is not a 100% guaranteed system, so you may at times run into differing constellations of players other than your own.“
This sounds like a nice compromise, and should certainly suit players that have a buddy they want to team up with, but when they don’t want to play in a squad of three. The duos mode is live now!
📡 The dust never settles out here.

Duo matchmaking is now live! 🤝
We hear you, Raiders – being consistently outgunned isn't great for morale, and it's worse for your loot.
We're now prioritizing pairing duos with duos for a fairer fight topside.

With regards to cosmetics and the current price structure, it is going to be revised, and very soon. “We have heard your feedback. We’ve reviewed our prices and made adjustments to lower prices where applicable. Revised prices will go live tomorrow, Thursday the 13th, at 10:30 CET. For any Raider who has already made a purchase on the old pricing, we’ll compensate you for the difference. These Raider Tokens will be refunded back into your account automatically in the coming week.“
The team at Embark also advised that additional Raider Decks will be coming to the game, in the form of both free and premium versions. Of note, only gameplay items will be in the ‘free’ Raider Decks, and per Emabark, “There are no Pay to Win items in the premium Raider Decks. The focus for premium Decks are based on cosmetics and convenience.“
