ARC Raiders Developer Embark is giving some players 500 Free Raider Tokens

Thanks Scrappy.

ARC Raiders is out, and had an absolutely massive weekend. While the servers remained mostly stable, there was a slight wobbles on Sunday, and now Embark have shared just what they plan to do about it – and that’s giving every player that tried to play and couldn’t 500 free ‘Raider’ tokens.

While sharing an update about the Hiker Backpack variant players that participated in October’s server slam event earned (it’s on its way!) the team at Embark commented on the news via a tweet on social media.

We appreciate your patience as our servers had a wobble on Sunday, Scrappy must’ve pecked a few wires loose, he’s been put on the naughty step. As a token of our thanks, we’re sending 500 Raider Tokens to all Raiders who logged in on Sunday.

Indeed, as someone who was trying to play on Sunday night, I had a few connection issues, but overall it’s been pretty stable. What’s not been stable is my blood pressure, and this game can be extremely tense. ARC Raiders saw over 350,000 concurrent players on Steam alone during the weekend, which means it’s the most successful extraction shooter ever.

They’ve got one hell of a roadmap planned too, with a new map, new environmental conditions, quests, items and new ARC to fight.

Safe to say, I am an addict, and the game was already riding high following my initial review-in-progress. As part of my final thoughts, I said “ARC Raiders walks a fine balance. It’s an extraction shooter seemingly purpose-built for the hardcore players, yet is surprisingly accessible, whether you’re playing with friends or going out there solo. It’s thematically dystopian, yet utterly beautiful to look at, full of bright splashes of colour and a cohesive overall design.

It can be tense, thrilling, and downright terrifying, but it is also filled with surprisingly sweet and endearing moments with the sort of random, social interaction I’ve not enjoyed since the early days of Sea of Thieves. This is ARC Raiders, and it’s just the beginning. It’s one of the best multiplayer games of the year, standing toe to toe with the giants in the genre. I’ll see you topside.
