Announced back in August, the genre-defining and unashamedly addictive indie sensation, Vampire Survivors, is getting its official board game. Back then, it was announced as an upcoming crowdfunding campaign, produced by Grey Fox Games. Well, the fundraiser for Vampire Survivors: The Board Game finally started, and it already made its funding goal of 15k USD in a mere 7 minutes. At the time of this writing, it already crossed 135k – over 9 times its original goal. Astonishing!
As a huge Vampire Survivors fan (check my review of the game!) and a board game aficionado, it’s needless to say that I’m getting this. It’s a cooperative deck-builder, designed for 1-to-4 players and with a playtime of about 45 minutes per match. Here’s how creator Grey Fox Games describes this project:
A tabletop version of the award winning video game!
Up to 4 brave heroes battle seemingly unending waves of enemies as they hope to increase their powers and gather new abilities so they may hope to survive as long as possible!
From designer Emerson Matsuuchi, this fast paced, deck building game has several unique characters, which players will deploy on the gameboard. They must do battle with with fiendish creatures who seek only to exterminate their existence.
If the players can live long enough they will make it to the end and they will have won the game, even though Death itself will arrive to destroy them utterly.
But maybe, even Death can die…

Not gonna lie, Vampire Survivors: The Board Game sounds fantastic, and I love how well the game’s 2D sprites translate to a physical board game. Remember that you have until the 21st of November, 2025 to pledge, with several bonus rewards for anyone funding the game on Kickstarter, as opposed to its eventual retail release.
Did you know that us at XboxEra also created a physical game, Console Wars? We also did it via Kickstarter, and it’s been quite the party game for many gamers recently! In its long list of videogame references and parodies, even Vampire Survivors has its equivalent. Will you find it?
