ARC Raiders ‘Outdated Game Client’ Error Message
Update: A new patch has been pushed across Xbox and Xbox PC stores of 19.01Gb. Fingers crossed it sorts the problem!

Original Article Below:
Picture the scene. You’ve bought ARC Raiders on Xbox, and you’re looking forward to joining your pals on Steam or PlayStation 5, but there’s just one problem. Every time you try to join, an ARC Raiders ‘Outdated Game Client’ Error Message is served.
You can go topside, but you can’t go with friends. So what gives?
It looks as though the team at Embark recently submitted a new hotfix – you can read about that here – and it was designed to fix a number of issues. For some reason however, players using the Xbox version of the game, be it via PC (using Xbox’s Play Anywhere feature) or the Xbox Series X|S version can’t join friends online.
While invites to friends on other platforms can be sent and received, ARC Raiders shows an ‘Outdated Game Client’ Error Message when trying to join or be joined. The nutshell? Players on Steam, EPIC or PS5 seemed to have had the correct update. Players on Xbox however, are going to have to wait for another patch.
We’ve raised a ticket with Embark and flagged this issue to them, and we’ll share more if and when we get a response. Until they fix it however, you’ll have to head top side on your own.
