Battlefield: Redsec gets an official release date and time

After a ton of rumours and leaks flying around for the past few weeks, EA have finally released some concrete details about their new Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6. A post on X from the team this afternoon has shown a short trailer as Battlefield: Redsec gets an official release date and time.

Here at XboxEra, we reported in September regarding ongoing testing for the Battle Royale mode. Per EA “We see a great opportunity to infuse the core Battlefield pillars of class-based squadplay, tactical destruction, and vehicle combat into the Battle Royale genre to create a high-stakes and adrenaline pumping gameplay experience. This is Battlefield’s twist on the classic formula, so you can expect to find all of the core principles of Battlefield taking place within this mode; gadgets, explosives, destructible environments, and vehicles can all be used to secure the win.“ The team also stated that there will be a new map specifically designed for what we now know to be called Redsec, as well as vehicles, and the 100 players will be sorted into squads of 25. With just the words ‘Eyes up. Plates on.’ and a ten second clip, fans looking forward to the new mode have now got their first official information regarding the launch. Battlefield: Redsec will be released at 8:00PT/15:00UTC tomorrow, 28th October. Previously rumoured to be named Firestorm, the launch has now officially got its name – but no other details have been released by EA, meaning that tomorrow’s launch should have surprises in store for many.
