This week, developer Epopeia Games announced that their farming simulation title ‘Gaucho and the Grassland‘ will launch on mobile platforms, in part thanks to the Indie Games Fund 2025, a global program by Google that selects promising independent studios to receive investment and technical support. This global initiative aims to boost independent studios from Latin America by offering equity-free investments of up to 200,000 USD for the development and expansion of their projects.
Epopeia Games will be working with Izyplay Studios, which is known for its standout portfolio of mobile games. The collaboration between two companies from Rio Grande do Sul, Epopeia Games and Izyplay Studios, highlights the creative talent of the state and strengthens the national and local indie scenes.
“We are more than excited about this project. In addition to the crucial investment at this moment, which aligns with our new phase as a publisher, the partnership with our Epopeia brothers is unique and symbolic. It represents the maturity that both studios have reached.”
— Everton Vieira, CEO of Izyplay Studios
In Gaucho, players will raise farm animals while diving into a grand adventure exploring the vast grasslands, the cozy highlands, the beach, and a magical world, helping locals and mystical beings to make your world a more harmonious place—heavily influenced by the beloved and well-known ‘The Legend of Zelda’ series. The game is currently available on PC via Steam and will also make its way to consoles sometimes down the line.
“The Gaucho franchise is very important to us, and it allowed us to receive this investment to adapt the game for mobile, as our audience has been asking for it a lot. Being able to do this in partnership with our brothers from Izyplay is a dream come true. We’re thrilled about it — and let’s go for it!”
— Ivan Sendin, CEO of Epopeia Games
